The Forest Network are a group of volunteers within Friends
of the Earth(FOEFN) Melbourne, Australia.
who believe in the intrinsic value of all species and landscapes
present on the Earth.
We are committed to the promotion and protection of native
forests and timber production methods that rehabilitate
degraded lands.
We aim to protect high conservation value forests
and promote the shift to an ecologically viable wood products
industry in Australia. Our aim is to preserve all the values
of native forests in a way that ensures the continued healthy
functioning of all of the processes of native forest ecosystems.

Yorta Yorta Country extends from near Echuca to just west
of Albury-Wodonga along Dhungalla (the Murray River). Prior
to the European invasion, their sustainable land management
practices facilitated the flourishing of diverse ecosystems.
Included in this land are the Barmah and Millewa forests with
the Murray River running through the middle. As well as its
cultural significance to the Yorta Yorta, this forest is of
significant value for its wealth of biodiversity. The Barmah
- Millewa collective are working with the Yorta Yorta Nation
to achieve a Barmah - Millewa jointly managed conservation
reserve.
This collective is also working with the Traditional Indigenous
Owners of other red gum wetland areas, towards developing
a system of Jointly Managed National Parks in Victoria along
the Murray.

Reclaim Globalisation campaigns to ensure that globalisation
meets the needs of communities and the environment. Free
trade, the world bank, and corporate crimes that harm communities
and the environment all come into our sights.
In 2005 we will be working to challenge the push for free
trade in the pacific. Secondly we will be challenging the
harmful impacts of free trade on natural resources (like
fish and forests) and the people who depend upon them.
We are a small campaign collective and we rely on the involvement
of people like you to make a difference.

The EcoTibet working group supports Tibetans in speaking
up for sustainable development and the protection of their
environment in the international community.
Tibet is home to the highest mountains and plateaus in
the world with a breathtaking diversity of alpine plants
and precious animals such as the rare snow leopard and the
wild yak. The rivers which start in Tibet flow across the
Asian continent and include the mighty Yangtze, Brahmaputra,
and Mekong. Tibetan culture is rich in traditional knowledge
about sustainable ways of living in this unique environment
and Tibetans have a strong spiritual connection to the land.

Friends of the Earth, Australia launched its national Climate
Justice Campaign in 2001.
In launching this campaign Friends of the Earth Australia
has identified the following key principles in relation
to climate change impacts and politics:
- We recognise that climate change is an environmental
issue that has a human rights impact.
- We recognise that climate change is caused by systemic
inequalities in global resource allocation and use. We
aim for a global solution to the threat of climate change
based on a fair share of sustainable resource use for
all people.
- We aim to raise community awareness about climate change
and its causes. We conduct research into the systemic
causes and effects of climate change, both within Australia
and globally.
- We encourage planned action which targets government
and corporate activity that threatens our climate and
perpetuates climate injustice. We are part of a national
alliance and international network of climate justice
campaigners.
- We are committed to creating an Asia-Pacific-Oceania
alliance for climate justice that works towards an equitable
share of environmental space for all.
