Hazelwood is Australia’s dirtiest power station. This election year, we’re calling on the Victorian and Federal Governments to commit to Replace Hazelwood with Clean Energy by 2012. Please join the campaign.

We can Replace Hazelwood with clean, safe and reliable energy by 2012.

Other developed countries are moving to diversify their energy supply by investing in clean technology. Here in Victoria we currently rely on old, out-of-date, inefficient and highly polluting technology to met our energy needs. Yet a transition to clean energy is possible, with the technology we currently have, which would also result in a massive job yield and substantial greenhouse emission reductions.

As a starting point in this process, Friends of the Earth has joined with other environmental organisations to call on all political parties to support the decommisioning and replacement of the dirty and ageing Hazelwood power plant in the Latrobe Valley with clean, renewable technology.

Please join this campaign.
