Support a fair senate inquiry into wind farms

Dear Senator Madigan and Committee members,

The terms of reference of the Select Committee on Wind Turbines fails to address:

  1. the role wind energy has to play to achieve Australia's international commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as domestic climate change policy goals;

  2. a detailed comparison between fossil fuel electricity generation and wind farms in terms of public health impacts; and,

  3. the positive impact wind energy has had on creating jobs and investment in regional Australia.

We urge you to support a fair inquiry into wind energy by putting the technology into context. We call on the you to ensure jobs/investment, fossil fuels impacts, and climate change receive due recognition in the committee's final report.
